The NEBOSH National General Certificate qualification has been recognised for many years as an excellent introduction to the fundamentals of occupational health and safety. The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management is designed to provide a similarly sound foundation in environmental management.

It will benefit companies who are seeking to implement effective environmental management systems, ensuring that line managers have a sound understanding of the principles of managing environmental risk and is relevant to all industry sectors.
The course covers the practical issues of managing environmental risk. The syllabus takes a risk management approach based on the best practice and international industry standards, including:

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Environmental Management consists of two units - each separately assessed:
· NEC1 - Management and control of environmental hazards
· NEC2 - Environmental practical application
Unit NEC1 is a taught unit assessed by a two-hour written examination.
Unit NEC2 requires the candidate to carry out an environmental review of a workplace or organisation and produce a justified action plan to improve performance. This practical application must normally be completed and returned to the Course Provider by a date determined by them and normally within 14 days of the written examination. The practical application is internally assessed by the course provider and externally moderated by NEBOSH.
A unit certificate is issued denoting successful achievement of each unit. A certificate award parchment is issued on successful completion of both units.
Course Duration: 5 Days lectures (one day per week)
plus practical assessment & 2 hour examination
